Inspection to manufacturer specifications
Regular inspection according to your vehicle manufacturer schedule.
What is a manufacturer inspection?
The manufacturer inspection (often called "Inspektion" or "Service" in Germany) follows the service schedule defined by your vehicle brand. Unlike the legally required main vehicle inspection (HU/AU), it is not mandatory by law, but it is strongly recommended to keep your warranty valid, maintain resale value and catch wear and defects early.
Each manufacturer defines its own intervals – typically every one or two years and/or every 15,000 to 30,000 km, depending on the model and sometimes on driving style. The inspection includes checks and replacements according to the schedule: oil and filters, brakes, tyres, lights, belts and many other components. We follow the official checklist for your make and model so nothing is missed.
What we do
We carry out the full inspection according to the manufacturer schedule for your vehicle. The exact scope depends on the interval (e.g. small or large inspection) and your mileage. Typically we do the following:
- Engine and fluids: oil change and oil filter; check coolant, brake fluid and windscreen washer; replace air filter and cabin filter if due.
- Brakes: visual check of pads and discs (front and rear); brake fluid change at the intervals specified by the manufacturer.
- Tyres and wheels: tread depth, condition and pressure; check wheel fixings.
- Lighting and electrical: all lights, battery condition and charging; replace bulbs if defective.
- Underbody and chassis: suspension, steering, drive shafts, exhaust; check for leaks and wear.
- Diagnostics: read fault codes, check service indicators and reset them after the inspection.
We use parts and fluids that meet manufacturer specifications and stamp or document the service in your service booklet so your service history remains complete.
What to bring?
- Vehicle – ideally with the current mileage so we can plan the correct interval.
- Service booklet (Serviceheft) if you have it – we stamp it and note the next due date.
- Previous invoices or inspection reports – helpful if the last service was done elsewhere, so we know what was already replaced.
You do not need to bring ID or registration documents for a manufacturer inspection; the vehicle and service history are enough.
Important information
Intervals: Inspection intervals vary by manufacturer and model – often every 12 or 24 months and/or every 15,000, 20,000 or 30,000 km. We will look up the correct schedule for your vehicle and tell you when the next inspection is due.
Warranty: If your vehicle is still under manufacturer or extended warranty, regular inspections according to the schedule are usually required. Missing or late inspections can void warranty claims. We document every step so you have proof of proper maintenance.
Duration: A full inspection usually takes between one and two hours, depending on the scope (e.g. oil change, filter changes, brake fluid). We will give you an estimate when you book.
Costs: The price depends on the scope (small vs. large inspection) and the parts used (e.g. oil grade, filters). We will provide a transparent quote before starting. Combining the inspection with your next HU/AU can save you a separate visit.
