Lawn mower repair

Repair and maintenance of lawn mowers including ride-on mowers.

What is lawn mower repair and maintenance?

We repair and maintain walk-behind and ride-on lawn mowers – petrol and electric, from domestic to professional use. Regular servicing keeps the mower running reliably, extends its life and ensures a clean, even cut. A dull or damaged blade tears the grass instead of cutting it cleanly and can damage the machine; belts and drives wear with use and need checking and replacement at the right time.

We work on common brands (e.g. Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Stihl, Husqvarna, Einhell, Bosch) and on both four-stroke and two-stroke petrol engines as well as electric mowers. We carry out annual services, blade sharpening and replacement, belt and drive repairs, and fault diagnosis when the mower will not start or runs poorly.

What we do

  • Engine servicing and repair: Oil change, air filter and spark plug; carburettor cleaning and adjustment; fuel system checks. For electric mowers we check the motor, cable and battery. We diagnose faults (e.g. no start, rough running, loss of power) and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Blade sharpening and replacement: We remove, sharpen and rebalance the cutting blade(s) or fit new blades if they are damaged or too worn. A sharp blade gives a clean cut and reduces load on the engine.
  • Belt and drive: We check and replace drive belts (e.g. blade drive, transmission on ride-on mowers). Worn or slipping belts reduce cutting performance and can damage other parts.
  • General maintenance: We check wheels, height adjustment, grass box and safety devices (e.g. dead man’s handle, blade brake). We advise on the next service and any parts that will need replacement soon.

We use quality parts and oils that meet the manufacturer specification. After repair we test the mower where possible so that you can use it with confidence.

What to bring?

  • Lawn mower – walk-behind or ride-on. For ride-on mowers we need enough space to receive and store the machine; please ask when you book.
  • Empty the fuel tank before transport for safety. If the mower leaks fuel, tell us when you book so we can handle it safely.
  • If you have the manual or model details, bring them or note the make and model when you book – this helps us order the right parts.

Important information

Annual service: We recommend an annual service before the mowing season (e.g. early spring). That way the mower is ready when you need it and we can catch wear and faults early.

Peak times: Demand is high in spring and early summer. Book in good time to avoid long waiting times.

Duration and costs: A simple service (oil change, filter, blade sharpening) usually takes a few days depending on workload. Repairs depend on the fault and parts availability. We will give you an estimate when you bring the mower and quote any repairs before starting.
