Wheel change and tyre fitting

We take care of everything to do with your wheels and tyres: seasonal wheel changes (summer/winter), fitting new or part-worn tyres to your rims, wheel balancing and correct tyre pressure. Tyres are the only contact between your vehicle and the road – their condition, size and type directly affect safety, braking distance, grip and fuel consumption.

In Germany and many neighbouring countries, winter tyres are mandatory in winter conditions. Even when not legally required, we recommend switching to winter tyres when temperatures regularly stay below 7 °C, because summer tyres harden in the cold and lose grip. We change wheels, fit and balance tyres and check pressure and condition so you are safe in every season.

• Seasonal wheel change: We remove the current set (e.g. summer), refit the other set (e.g. winter), tighten the wheel bolts to the correct torque and check tyre pressure. We can also store your second set if you have a storage contract.
• Tyres on rims: We mount and demount tyres on your rims (or on new rims), fit new valves where needed and balance the wheels on a balancing machine so there is no vibration at speed.
• Pressure and condition: We set the correct pressure (including spare and/or different pressures for load) and check tread depth, damage and age. We advise if a tyre is no longer safe or legal (e.g. below 1.6 mm tread).
• Ordering tyres: If you need new tyres, we can order the right size and type (summer, winter, all-season) for your vehicle and fit them when they arrive.

We use professional equipment (tyre changer, balancer, torque wrench) and follow manufacturer specifications for bolt torque and pressure so that wheels are fitted safely and wear is even.

• Vehicle – for a wheel change we need the car so we can lift it and refit the wheels correctly.
• Second set of wheels (summer or winter) if you are having a seasonal change – bring them with you or we can arrange collection/storage if offered.
• If you are bringing your own tyres (e.g. bought online), bring them with the rims if you have them; we can then fit and balance. If you want us to order tyres, just tell us the vehicle type and we will look up the correct size and recommend a suitable product.

You do not need registration documents or ID for a wheel change or tyre fitting.

Winter tyres: In Germany, winter tyres are required when there is ice, snow or slush on the road; in some regions or countries they are mandatory for a fixed period. We recommend changing to winter tyres when temperatures stay below 7 °C. Minimum tread depth for winter tyres is 1.6 mm (same as summer); for safety in snow, 4 mm or more is better.

Peak times: At the start of winter and when switching back to summer tyres, demand is high. Book in advance so you get a slot without long waits.

Storage: If we offer seasonal storage, we can store your second set of wheels and fit them when you need them. Ask us for conditions and price.

Duration and costs: A simple wheel change (two sets already prepared) usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Fitting and balancing four new tyres takes longer. We will quote you before starting. Correct pressure and balancing extend tyre life and improve safety and comfort.
